MHT CET 2025 Colleges List (Illustrative & Tentative Data for Academic Year 2025-26)

As we discussed, official, definitive data for MHT CET 2025 (Academic Year 2025-26) regarding exact college lists, capacities, and precise fees is still being released by the Maharashtra State CET Cell and the Fee Regulating Authority. While the MHT-CET (PCM & PCB Group) Information Brochure for A.Y. 2025-26 was published on December 30, 2024, the detailed Seat Matrix (capacity) and final approved fee structures for individual colleges are typically released closer to the CAP (Centralized Admission Process) counselling, which is expected to begin in July 2025.

Therefore, the tables below are illustrative based on common knowledge of prominent colleges and previous years' trends. You MUST cross-reference these with the official documents from the Maharashtra State CET Cell (https://cetcell.mahacet.org/) once they are published for the A.Y. 2025-26 admissions.

MHT-CET 2025 Cutoff Details

The MHT CET scorecard 2025 comprises the subject-wise percentile and overall percentile, followed by personal details of the candidate and exam. The CET ranks will be available after the admission process, where candidates have to register for CAP and get their documents verified. Once the procedure is completed, the authorities will publish a provisional MHT CET 2025 merit list, which will include the All-India Rank and State-Wise MHT CET 2025 rank.

The MHT-CET 2025 Cutoff will be officially released by the Maharashtra State Common Entrance Test (CET) Cell after the completion of the counselling process. This cutoff represents the opening and closing ranks within which the participating institutes admit students to various undergraduate courses. The official website, cetcell.mahacet.org, will upload the cutoff after each round of counselling.

Expected Cutoff Analysis based on Topper's Score (PCM Group)

With the MHT CET 2025 toppers list revealing 22 candidates scoring a perfect 100 percentile in the PCM stream, the competition for top engineering colleges is expected to be intense. As a result, the expected MHT CET percentile cutoff for premier institutes like COEP, VJTI, and ICT is likely to remain high, especially for sought-after branches like Computer Science and IT, where cutoffs may exceed between 95.60 to 99.89 percentiles.

  • For 80 marks out of 200, the expected percentile is 85-88.
  • For 105-110 marks, the expected percentile is 94.

Safe Score for MHT-CET 2025 (Tentative)

  • A score of 110-150 is generally considered a safe score for admissions.
  • A score of 150+ is considered a very good score, significantly increasing admission chances to top colleges.

Minimum Qualifying Marks (Category-wise)

  • For General category candidates: a minimum of 45% (90 marks out of 200) to qualify.
  • For Reserved categories (Maharashtra State only): a minimum of 40% (80 marks out of 200) to qualify.

Eligibility Criteria for MHT-CET 2025 CAP Rounds

To be eligible for MHT-CET 2025 CAP Round registration, candidates generally must meet the following criteria. Always refer to the official information brochure for precise details for your specific course (Engineering, Pharmacy, etc.).

Types of Candidature for MHT-CET Admissions

Understanding your type of candidature is important as it affects eligibility for specific seats and reservations:

MHT-CET CAP Round Application Process

The entire CAP (Centralized Admission Process) is conducted online. Here are the key steps involved:

  1. Step 1: Online Registration: Visit the official CET Cell website (cetcell.mahacet.org) and navigate to the 'CAP 2025-26' section for your desired course. Fill in your personal, communication, and security details. You will create a unique login ID and password.
  2. Step 2: Document Upload & E-Verification: Upload scanned copies of all necessary documents (as listed below) in the specified format and size. These documents will undergo online e-verification by the authorities. It is crucial to upload clear and correct documents to avoid delays or rejection. Candidates may visit a Facilitation Center (FC) if they face issues with online document verification or for assistance.
  3. Step 3: Pay Counselling Fees: Pay the non-refundable counselling fees online using available payment gateways (credit card, debit card, internet banking, or UPI). Candidates who have already successfully registered and paid the application fee for the MHT-CET 2025 examination are generally not required to pay an additional counselling fee.
  4. Step 4: Provisional & Final Merit List Display: After the e-verification of documents, a provisional merit list will be displayed. Candidates will be given a specific window to submit grievances if they find any discrepancies in their details or merit position. Post-grievance resolution, a final merit list will be published, which will be the basis for seat allotment.
  5. Step 5: Option Entry & Seat Allotment (Multiple Rounds): This is a crucial step. Candidates must log in to their profile and submit their preferences for colleges and courses in the Option Form. It is advisable to fill in as many choices as possible, prioritizing them carefully. The CET Cell plans to conduct **four CAP rounds** this year for engineering admissions. Seat allotment in each round is based on your MHT-CET/JEE Main score, merit rank, categories, and the choices filled.
    • CAP Round I: Generally aims to fill a significant portion of seats. Auto-freeze rules apply for candidates allotted their first preference.
    • CAP Round II: For betterment or fresh options. Candidates who did not get an allotment or accepted 'Float'/'Slide' can participate.
    • CAP Round III: Similar to Round II, offering further opportunities for betterment or new options.
    • CAP Round IV (or Institute Level Round by CET Cell): Often the last CAP round, with more stringent rules for acceptance. May involve physical reporting to Facilitation Centers for confirmation.
    • Options after Allotment: After an allotment in a CAP round, candidates have choices:
      • Freeze: Accept the allotted seat and confirm admission at the institute. You will not be considered for subsequent rounds.
      • Slide: Accept the current allotted seat but wish for betterment in a different course within the *same* institute in subsequent rounds.
      • Float: Accept the current allotted seat but wish for betterment in a different course or institute in subsequent rounds.
  6. Step 6: Reporting to Allotted Institute & Fee Payment: If you accept (Freeze) the seat, you must report to the respective allotted college within the stipulated time with all original documents (for physical verification) and pay the admission fee to confirm your admission. Failure to do so will result in forfeiture of the seat. Candidates choosing 'Slide' or 'Float' typically pay a seat acceptance fee online and wait for subsequent rounds, but must still report to the college if they decide to freeze in a later round.
  7. Step 7: Institute Level / Against CAP Admissions: If seats remain vacant after the official CAP rounds, colleges may conduct institute-level admissions (management quota or other vacant seats). These admissions are conducted directly by the respective institutes, following guidelines set by the CET Cell, and are typically filled based on merit within that quota or by MHT-CET/JEE Main scores.
